Terms & Conditions

Terms and conditions are where websites tend to reach for their sternest lawyer voice. I’ll keep the stern parts stern, because a few of them genuinely need to be — but the rest can be said like a human. Here’s the deal for using this site.

These terms cover your use of peopledrivenresults.com (the “site”), operated by People Driven Results (“I,” “me,” “we”). By browsing here, you’re agreeing to them. If a particular line doesn’t sit right with you, the honest answer is: don’t use the site. For everyone else, this is short and reasonable.

The short version

  • The words, frameworks, and content here are mine. Read them, quote them with credit, link to them — but don’t repackage them as your own.
  • This site is information, not a contract for services. Actual speaking or consulting work runs on its own written agreement.
  • Nothing here is professional advice for your specific situation — it’s ideas and expertise, offered generally.
  • Links to other sites aren’t endorsements of everything on them.
  • Illinois law governs if anything ever needs sorting out.

1. Using this site

You’re welcome to read, browse, and share this site for your own personal and professional interest. What you shouldn’t do is the predictable list: don’t try to break, overload, or hack the site; don’t scrape it to spin up a knockoff; don’t use it for anything unlawful; and don’t misrepresent who you are when you contact me. None of that should be a surprise, and none of it describes the people I actually hear from.

2. What’s mine — content and intellectual property

The frameworks, articles, language, book excerpts, images, and structure on this site are the intellectual property of People Driven Results and Haydn Shaw, or are used with permission, and are protected by copyright and related law. The generational frameworks in particular — the sticking points, the five approaches, the emerging-adulthood model, and the rest — represent decades of work, and they’re the practice.

Here’s what’s fair game and what isn’t. Fair game: reading it, sharing links, and quoting a passage with clear attribution to Haydn Shaw and a link back — the normal courtesy of citing a source. Not fair game: copying substantial content wholesale, republishing articles as your own, using the material in paid training or products without written permission, or feeding it into a tool that repackages it as someone else’s work. If you’d like to use something more fully — reprint an article, license a framework for internal use — just ask. That conversation is usually a short and friendly one.

3. This site is information, not an agreement for services

The site describes what I do — keynotes, training, consulting — but reading it doesn’t create a client relationship, and nothing here is an offer or a contract. Real engagements run on a separate, signed agreement that spells out scope, dates, fees, and terms. If a page here ever seems to conflict with the terms of an actual engagement contract, the contract wins.

4. No professional advice

Everything on this site is general information and perspective, shared in good faith from years of working with organizations. It is not tailored professional advice for your company’s specific situation — legal, HR, financial, or otherwise — and shouldn’t be treated as a substitute for it. Read it, use it, be provoked by it; but for decisions with real stakes at your organization, pair it with counsel who knows your particulars.

5. Links to other sites

Now and then this site links out — to a book retailer, an article, a partner, a resource worth your time. Those sites aren’t mine and I don’t control them, so a link isn’t a blanket endorsement of everything they contain, and I can’t be responsible for their content or their privacy practices. Once you leave this site, you’re playing by their rules; give their terms a glance if it matters.

6. Disclaimers and limits — the stern part

This is the section the lawyers insist on, and for once they’re right to. I keep this site accurate and useful to the best of my ability, but I offer it “as is,” without warranties of any kind — I can’t promise it will always be available, error-free, or free of the occasional broken link or typo that slips past me.

To the fullest extent allowed by law, People Driven Results and Haydn Shaw are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of — or inability to use — this site or anything you found on it. Put plainly: if a page here inspires a decision, that decision, and its outcome, are yours.

7. Changes to these terms

I may update these terms as the site grows — if a store, a course, a booking system, or a comment section ever shows up, the terms will grow to match. When they change, the “last updated” date at the top moves. Continuing to use the site after a change means you’re fine with the current version.

8. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute that somehow can’t be settled like reasonable adults will be handled by the courts located in Illinois.
